Version 1 was released in 1997, and a new version 2 of the dictionary was published in September 2002. The work has been funded by the Public Road Authorities in the Nordic countries on initiative from NVF53. This terminology dictionary is the property of NVF53. It is freely available from our web-site. You may download, read or print the pdf-file for your personal use. However, it is not allowed to reproduce or distribute the dictionary without permission from NVF53. Version 1 (April 1997) Version 1 was published in April 1997 (NVF 53 Report no 1:1997 "Road Transport Informatics Terminology"). This version is also available for searching here on nvf53.org. Version 2 (September 2002) We have got positive feed-back on version 1, and encouraged by the the success we started the work to develope version 2 in Spring 2000. In version 2 of the dictionary the number of terms has been increased from about 230 to 490, and quite a few of the previous 230 terms and definitions have been changed. In other words, this is a significant update. Version 2 was published in September 2002 (NVF Technical Group no 53, report no 1:2002). There are two different reports; an English report with English language only, and a more comprehensive English and Nordic report with English, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish. These reports are freely available in pdf-format here on nvf53.org. Version 2 will also in the near future be available for on-line search using the PIARC Terminology System. This includes a CD and updating from the Internet, please find more information on www.piarc.org and www.piarc.org/pub/cd-termino-e.htm |
